Climbing Coach

What is your favorite part about working at Climb Iowa?

I enjoy coaching. It gives me the opportunity to share something that I love with others in hopes that they will grow to appreciate the sport of climbing as much as I do. Along with coaching, I must admit that one of my favorite things about Climb Iowa in general are the tshirts. They’re so soft.

What is your favorite quote?

Gimme see that.

What started you into climbing?

When in high school, I made my way out to Climb Iowa and was immediately hooked. Unfortunately, I then went to college in Minnesota and suffered serious withdrawals from climbing. Sometimes I’d sneak back to Des Moines just to climb.

What is your favorite kind of pizza?

Pizza is such a versatile food. It can be had for any meal you so desire- breakfast…lunch…dinner…late night snacking. Anytime you want it! I love most things about pizza- the cheese especially. I must say that I do love good cheese.

Who is your favorite rock climber?

Great question. I appreciate any climber, whether novice or professional, who has a pure love for climbing. I’d love to take a trip back in time and talk to the first person that ever climbed up the face of a rock.

What other activities do you enjoy?

Music- listening to it and making it. Drinking coffee. Doing the dishes. Sleeping in vans. Making and eating breakfast with friends.
